This is the only thing that concerns me about purchasing a Viper, on average what could i expect to return.

1/. hard driving

2/. around town

3/. motorway say at a steady 80 mph

Anyone owned a c5 here and then purchased a viper? and if so did the viper guzzle a lot more juice.

thx

around 10 but lower on a track, but how often can you do 10 miles of hard driving in the UK without slowing down ?

15

20-22 (in 6th gear) are my estimates

If you want great mileage get a stock gen1 RT, I cruised from Birmingham to the Chunnel and only used 1/3 of a tank, a GTS is a real gussler compared to a gen1 !

I agree - on average I get around 17mpg in general driving. Got 22mpg one our trip to the Nürburgring in Germany last year.

It's not how much petrol you use, it's the way you use it

Figrues for my 2002 C5 coupe with manual gearbox are:

1. On track and really hammering it I got 10 MPG
2. Around town I get 18 MPG
3. Cruising at about 80 I get 29-30 MPG

Overall average since I got the car is 26 MPG. I don't drive hard and fast that often, on motorways I cruise, on back roads I use all the power to overtake then throttle back as I cruise up to the next little queue to be passed.

As a bit of a hang over from claiming back company car mileage I got into the habit of recording details of all fuel consumed and can send you a complete spreadsheet of evidence, if wanted !
