Looking round at MX-5s at the moment and all keenly priced, well specced ones appear to come in grey only!

Grey is not my first choice for a little colour even though it appears to be growing on me.

Would lack of colour choice deter you from buying a car?

Uh yes. You're the one who'll be driving it and parking it outside your house. You wouldn't buy a pink one presumably, so you why would you want a resale grey one?

There must be shedloads of mx5s around to pick from if you expand your geographical search area a little.

I quite like the bronze colour on the ph2 MX5s and also despise all silver cars....

Yes. I'd only buy a gray or silver car if it was massively cheaper than every other alternative. I'd rather drive a pink car with green spots than a silver one.

It would depend on budget, if I was shopping at the bottom of the market then apart from bright pink pretty much anything with more paint than rust would do. If I was shopping for mid range MX5's then I would be a bit more fussy but if I had a choice between a >insert favourite colour here< one that was a bit suspect condition/history wise, or a >insert dull unpleasant colour here< one that was otherwise perfect I would be swayed towards the latter.

You seriously like the ginger MX-5s? Not heard anyone say that for a while!

If I expand my search area I'll be looking at left hand drive versions wink

Problem with the Mk3 '5 is that the colour choice is rather poor.

Copper red is my top choice but there are none at all within my reach, the rest are made of silver, grey, black and a rather garish looking blue.

I ended up getting one on sat, its a bright shade of green. Probably not to everyones taste, but to be honest is dont really care. I only got the car simply to enjoy it from the drivers seat so the colour makes no difference.
Fair enough i liked the look of the car hence i bought it, but no doubt i would have bought it if it was a different colour too.
