Sounds lovely !

You seemed to have quite a lot of clear track too. Saw you on track a few times when I was out (Pale Blue MK2 Golf) smile

Was just wondering because it looked like you were carrying a higher gear in most places (like the chicanes). The engine looked really tractable considering the lower gear, but then it made more sense then that the slicks allowed you to carry a lot more speed into the corner than a normal tire would. Laps looked really tidy!

Ah, I understand ! yeah, I fitted bigger bumpers so I could fit a front splitter and rear flat floor / diffuser. High speed stability is improved with some loss of top speed being the downside. Car feels more stable so I`ll leave it as it is.

hi ste...

let me tell you about my tyres woes at Spa.. the week before we went i had a new stainless twin silencer box system fitted at my local Pipewerx as the full Titanium was 120db!! The aim was 102db and retain the Titanium manifolds & tips. When i dropped the car off for the zorst to be custom fitted, it was wearing BBS LM's with 285/30/18 Toyo 888's... When i fitted the 285 slicks on standard GT3 rims at Spa it became quickly aparant that they were fouling something as the rear due to a trail of smoke on my first sighting lap on the Monday morning... The inner wall of the slicks were just touching the stainless bend connecting the two silencer boxes... I FELT SICK!!!! as the BBS/LM 888 rears had just enough tread to get me home legally.. no way would they stand two days chasing you!!

The only solution for the two days was to run my FRONT BBS/888 235's on the front.. on the REAR i was running front 8.5x18 rims with front 245 slicks!!!! .... which was fun!

I had the zorst modified as soon as i got back from Spa, full set of slicks fitted with no probs and then did Oulton for the first time on a full set o slicks... watch out!!

laughlaughlaugh You do just fine with what you got Ade wink, your car goes well, I know!!!... it doesn't really matter, I keep telling myself there is always someone faster than you on a track day, regardless of what we do to our cars... it's all about getting the most out of them and enjoying it!
