I have a 52 plate e46 SE with a business head unit. It has the multi function steering wheel with the phone controls.

In short, how can I get this working? Anyone on here been successful getting it going? What do I need to buy? How much will it cost to take it from its current status to allowing me to make and take handsfree calls?

Thanks,

There seems to be three popular options.

1) Fit a proper BMW Bluetooth module and associated wiring. At vast cost! This will cost getting on for £1000 if you use brand new dealer parts though there are cheaper ways to aquire the kit you need.

2) Get a Parrot device fitted at your local car audio place. I guess this would be around £200.

3) This is what I intend to do. It's basically a hidden parrot device that's fully integrated into the car. Steering wheel button will operate the device and you can use voice dialing etc. Only disadvantage is that you won't get caller ID display. Should cost £50 - £100 all in if you use Ebay.
