Bought a pair off Ebay (about same price), after reading about them in a magazine review, where they were voted "best overall". Think list price was quoted as £24.99 !

Wipacs and SVC have better rep, but these have glass lenses and are lots cheaper!

I'll let you know. I drove the car in the dark for the first time a few weeks ago, and it was like holding a candle in front of me to see the road agead. So it HAS to be an improvement !

Thanks, I had a similar experience the first time I drove in the dark. An essential improvement, especially as the lugs on my lamps are rotting off too!

I have 130/90w RING H4 in my Disco, work very well, along with the four 130w 8" driving lamps on full beam! drive across a moor onthe way to work, not just posing!!

Hope you don't drive across the moor in the middle of summer with that lot on, you'll start fires!

Re head lights got a side light out planning to change it but how do I get them out? Do the chrome trims round the lights just pull off and are the lamps screwed in behind then allowing access?

No, If you look at the bottom of the bezel there should be a little "L" bracket fixed to it and a self tapping screw into the fibreglass holding it on. Once off removing the headlamp unit to access the side light bulb holder should be self explanatory, there should be no need to touch the two beam alignment adjusting screws.

on mine took the screw out under rim . if there is one
get hold of rim and turn ,mine went anti clock wise
then when of there will be 5 screws only undo the ones that can be clipped of
push and turn the light will fall off
do not try to unscrew where the screw gos all the way through ,they are the beam adjusters

Cheers guys one side has a screw beneath the other doesn't. So another job me thinks. Will turn the one without and see if it comes off. Understand about beam adjusters will leave them alone.

Well I fitted my new headlights today and was feeling pretty pleased with myself until I went to replace the final chrome finishing ring around one headlight and snapped off the fixing metal arm that's riveted onto the ring. Cursed myself several times.

Does anyone know where I can buy the chrome finishing rings as I am sceptical about whether the fixing arm can be soldered back together.

Always seems to go this way when I attempt to work on the car myself !

Don't think you can buy them with that little bracket (chrome ring is common to many cars but that bits unique TVR).

Its not soldered. on mine they are pop riveted or imagine a small screw and nut would do and new bracket easy enough to knock up if rusty fron a piece of jubilee clip or similar ?

Good picture Norman - says it all. Had mine off following forum advice and intend to do the same iwo missing tab add a small home made bracket and pop rivet it to the lamp surround then self tapper back to the body. Just need to escape SWMBO to get on with it!

Incidently one surround is corroding on the inside, how much are new ones and where would I go for them? Seem to recall a red S on here that had black surrounds which were then replaced. Can't remember who's car it was ? Cheers

go for the chrome on brass, had a pair on my mini for 5 years now no rust
got a cheap pair before and lasted less than a year
