Lot of activity Southend Airport. Divert in operation?

Is there a diversion in place from any of the London airports. Have seen a few airliners circling to land at Southend Airport, including an Easyjet plane.

Nothing in the usual places... you sure they landed there?

Not sure they landed. But they were low and following the holding circle for the airport.

There's a livery company there, maybe in for a repaint

Re-livery is possible though I doubt you'd suddenly get different aircraft arriving all at the same time?

The only other thing I can think of is noise tests perhaps? The airport is in the middle of upgrading to accept larger commercial aircraft.

It was the airborne version of one of those chavvy sea-front "croozes" that they do down Essex way.

My guess would be something on airtest or something to do with the Airport expansion.

Southend is sometimes used as a diversion for London City Airport, particularly if it is foggy.

I've seen a couple of Air France BAe146's diverted in to Southend in the past.

I would have thought someone like EasyJet if they couldn't get in to Stansted, would go to Gatwick.

Southend's runway is a bit on the short side for larger Airliners loaded with Passengers and luggage.
