Child seat in a Murci?

What I would have given to have gone in a Lambo when I was that age. Great Effort in creating a future Petrol/Pistonhead
Me, too. When I was a kid, I used to take the bus to Brentford to stand and watch Del Hopkins and co service and test drive Countach's, Miura’s etc. I desperately wanted to have a go in one, but never plucked up enough courage to ask...
Cheers.

I regulary take my 3yr old girl out in the 360, using the normal big bulky seat, but guess teh seats are a little wider than yours.
You can buy a protective car seat mat from Halfwits which is "supposed" to protect the leather, but the seat has two flanges on the back which have permanently stretched the leather in the rear seats of my S Tye R that the seat sits in most of the time.
Towel as suggested, is probably better to be honest.
If you go out for a few hours it can leave an 'impression' on the seat, which soon disappears as long as it's only short periods - when I take her out for teh day, when we park up I release the tension on the belt to avoid squashing the foam/leather any longer than necessary.

I used to regularly take my 4 year old son out in my old Murcie with just the booster base type affair. Seemed to fit really well due to the shape of the Murcie seats. I now do the same in my Scud complete with harnesses. I think as long as you take the time to adjust the belts and seat to fit the child, you should be fine.

Slightly OT but quite a few years back I remember driving my daughter down to Goodwood in a Gallardo early on Sunday morning when she was 3
This truck pulled out right in front of us and I slammed on the brakes
Needless to say all of her breakfast ended up right in that tight bit between the window and dashboard - never did really managed to get rid of the smell
btw on the main topic you will have no problem using standard kids seats provided you dont have the 4 point belts
I've still never found a seat the correctly fits the SV raceseats with the 4 point belts so the kids have to slum it in the GTO

Actually, we didn't use the porsche seat in the SV. We used a Britax seat - can't remember the model but it's quite old now but it was narrow enough to fit into the SV seat and was secured tightly by looping the seat belt through the child seat which had it's own integrated harness. The SV seats are a really awkward shape because they slant forward slightly at the top which makes fitting a child seat really hard. Not sure if Murci seats are the same. If you live anywhere near Milton Keynes I recommend the in car safety centre - they really fit seats properly and you can take your car to them. www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk
I don't like booster seats for young children - they are more vulnerable in the front and you don't get side protection. To protect the seats we used 2 non-slip heavy duty seat protectors. Other things can actually cause the child seat to slip forward under heavy breaking.
Anyway, good luck, it's worth it to see a small grinning face next to you. Our five year old says he is a co-pilot!

Thank you all very much for the advice. I will buy a couple of seat protectors and try his seat in the car tonight. Without any question, safety is the key issue for me, which is one of the reasons why I have not even contemplated it in the past four years. Once I am satisfied that the seat is secure, Dylan will be one very happy young man...
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
