Looking to know what would you do with £7k from my options below. Need a family car and 2nd car that will fit 2 kids in, but not all their stuff, so just with 4 seats and some sort of boot basically. So...

1. Get a ST220 for me and the mrs keeps her mk6 5dr 1.4 fiesta? (This is perhaps best option, but as she tends to lug the kids round, it may be more practical for her to use the family car).

2. Get a £5k family car for the mrs, I keep her fiesta and get a puma engine conversion, coilovers and bit more when money allows. Potentially a nice, practical sleeper?

3. Sell fiesta (£3k +£7 =10) get a ST170 (get it chipped, s/s exhaust) and a family car of some sort, maybe volvo estate?

4. Sell fiesta and get a racing puma and a random family car?

I sold my mx5 a few months ago so would like something good to drive, and the possibillty do 1 or 2 track days a year would be a benefit.

I'd be particularly interested in your views on the 2nd option given that the car is sitting on my drive, i know its condition (i.e the wife has done a couple of car bump scrapes but owned from new and less than 30k miles on it).

I assume it would be the most expensive option performance wise, but if i can just give it to pumaspeed and not have to worry about the risks of selling it then buying 2 new cars, however small, that is 'worth' something to me. Do quite fancy the racing Puma though!! Thanks.

I wouldn't want the fiesta to end up as my main car if I were you no matter if it's a bit modded. At least not against some of the other choices you've listed there. The ST220 seems the best bet. Nicest engine, which means a lot.
