Was just wondering if any PH's are doing any rides there as I normally have one so would be nice to know what kind of cars will be giving rides smile

Thanks,
Tom

If i can get my act together and finally get the application form sent off that's been on my desk for about a week now...... then i hope to be volunteering my car for rides on at least one of the days biggrin

What they will charge for this dubious priviledge i've no idea ?...... £2:50 maybe cry

Message from SBDR police: don't forget to tell the booking desk before nipping out as you could have other rides booked and make sure you go passed the spectator crowd as that could get you a SBDR when you're back

Or you could both block out a space each on your booking sheets

There you go spirit you've not even done the forms and you got people wanting to go out in your car

Yes Dad hehe
I was thinking more like just after the briefing, good excuse to learn the route again or fill up the tanks.

As for going past the crowd - I always tried to make as much noise as possible last year, and if there was a clear run I'd bring the revs up to induce the overrun. I got one ride last year solely because I parked up by the barrier for 5 minutes and a chap in the crowd was smitten when I started her up right next to him. People love noise, in fact I think a great way of attracting the crowd this year would be to have a mass rev up at a certain time. Drews 355 would certainly win any loudness comp though!

Yeap we love a bit of noise a bit of discreet revving attracts the crowds and passengers smile

Unfortunately we do have to limit it as it gets a bit tiring for the other hard workers on the booking desks and NEC H&S always have concerns (it's not a sound off comp)

Not many cars can be parked or drop off and pick up at the barrier but if you're short of rides parking so the crowds can see your car, or better still when the crowds see your car moving it, does encorage more passengers

You learnt well my son

This year will be in the 996TT X50 - last year was in the 993 and did 33 rides !!! .... I was shattered at the end of it. But soooo worth it.

Clive - was yours a yellow 993? Saw one there last year and it was stunning! Really wanted to have a chat to the owner but didn't get the chance.

Mine was a blue one, now sold. It will be on the Meguairs club show case stand though as it won the TIPEC concours in 2010, whilst still in my ownership.... looking forward to going and saying hello to the old beast...still miss it !!

Yep, I'll be there with my Impreza again (now running at 290bhp). If you fancy a passenger ride Tom, I'm only asking for a £10 donation for a 1/2 hour passenger ride. I'll be there on Sunday 14th. Hopefully see you there and thank you for your support.

Should I put my name down even if I'm just going to be a passenger?

if you want to then yes certainly, you will be very much invovled as a passenger - it would be a waste of time without passengers smile
