Hello Guys, Ive done a search and nothing has come up.
Anyone any experience of these cars? real world MPG? Faults?
I have a friend thats after one, and Ive found out the "SI" 3.0 which came out in 2006 is 265BHP, and 33MPG. Sounds good also its £240 Tax, so sounds just what he is after.
Its a manual he wants, Ive had a manual M3 E46 and told him to avoid the SMG anyway.
Any advice from owners/ previous owners? Many thanks.

I've a Coupe and just running back and forth to the railway station, supermarkets etc during the weeke then longer drives at weekends gives me 27-28mpg, I could get more but the engine sounds so nice at the red line...
Oh and the whole car was transformed by putting proper tyres on instead of runflats, no more tramlining, better feel, comfort and noise. I went Vredstein but Falkens have a decent rep too.

I have a 3.0 coupe. Agree with all the above. On my London suburban route to work (28 miles each way) I get 27-29 mpg, on a run 35 is easily achievable. If you are doing lots of short journeys expect 20-25 mpg. Fantastic engine, performance & sound is great especially with one of the 2 foam sounds attenuators (bungs) removed from the sound generator. Generally regarded to be one of THE great mass produed engines. Gearbox can feel a bit obstructive at slow sepeds, but is wonderful when pressing on.

Hi,
I have one, lovely car.
If you get one, remove the runflats quickly, it really transforms the ride.
Secondly, remove the CDV or replace it for a modified one
The clutch delay valve, does exactly what is says, it isn't needed and when in place, you can kangaroo a little at low speeds as mentioned. Its aimed at assisting the driver, but it causes more issues than it solves
The gearbox is fine, its just this valve. Take to garage, takes about 10 mins, most of the time is spent bleeding the clutch to remove air etc. Its a well recognised mod for the majority of Z4 officianados
Job done and you wont be dissapointed.

Picked up an 07 3.0 Si on Saturday, had the pleasure of driving it the 140 ish miles home and loved every minute of it.
I drive a 986 'S' and the Z4 is for the girlfriend but I can honestly say i prefer the Z4, From what i've experienced so far i'd say the Boxster is marginally better when really pushing on but for everything else the Z4 is the better car.
I'd read about people saying the sat nav is crap but i found it a very easy to use system, to be honest other than the run flats (which are still better than what i expected after all the bad things i had read about them) i can't really find any fault with the car as yet
To think the car has only 17k on the clock, is 3.5 years old and with pretty much every optional extra only cost me £15.5k i think it has to be about the best value roadster on the market at the minute

He has bought one he picks up Friday.
We went along and I noticed the rear discs were worn. Strange with the low miles, and the roof was sticky when pushing the button to put it down.
It looks really nice. Wheels unmarked and brand new Bridgestones on it. Interior spotless.
He ended up paying £15100 with new discs/ pads aswell as the roof being checked/ sorted at a BMW dealer.

when i was looking i narrowed it down to two cars, the one your mate has bought is the one that i eventually decided not to go with. it looks a lovely car, but decided in the end that the extra £400 on what your mate paid (though he should have got it cheaper, i had got them down to £14,800) was worth it for a car a year newer, with Nav and a few other extras. He has bought one he picks up Friday.

saying that though the car is in lovely condition and I spoke to the garage that had been servicing the car (a bloke operating from home) and they confirmed the owner had looked after the car very well but was selling as he hardly used it. as i say, i searched dozens of cars and that one was one of the best i could find
Roof motor's not so much a problem on post facelift cars. Get it checked though, will be expensive, as has been said.

They are pretty rare anyway, and with that one being pretty close, in good condition and available now he decided to go for it.
£15100 I dont think was too bad with the BMW roof work done to it and new discs/ pads.
I hope he enjoys it.
