Jaguar Reveals New 'Black Pack' Trim Option
Like a Jaguar, only with less brightwork
Jaguar has revealed a new 'appearance package' called the Black Pack for those customers who find the XF a bit too, well, chromey.
The new Black Pack follows the launch of a similar option on the XK earlier this year.
The trim level includes dark-grey 20-inch Draco alloy wheels with diamond-turned rims, a gloss black grille and gloss black window surrounds.
The XF Black Pack is available on the XF Diesel S, the 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 model, and the XFR, with prices starting at £950 (for the pack, not the car...).
Such tweaks seem to prove popular on Jaguars, according to Geoff Cousins, Jaguar's UK MD. "Since the Black Pack and Speed Pack were launched on the XKR sports car at the Geneva Motor Show," he says, "almost half of XKR coupe buyers have selected one or both options - double our original estimate - and we expect the Black Pack will generate just as much excitement amongst XF customers."
XF Black Packs can only be specified with Polaris White, Spectrum Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Grey, Lunar Grey or Liquid Silver paint jobs, or - for XFRs only - Kyanite Blue and Salsa Red.

and they should be satin black IMO
I think £950 for the option is a bloomin cheek, and when I win the lottery and buy myself a XFR, I will do the shadowline bit myself, in satin black

Personally I don't agree with you - I would love an XFR in dark metallic grey and ALL the chromework done in satin black.....but that's just me, each to their own!

If a car has 15 colour options for example, then they either need a stock of each of the 15 colours of parts besinde the production line, or the parts need to be sequence fed. Both are undesirable from a manufacturing point of view.
