Barclays cycle - how's it going now
Discussion
As far as I can see it is going quite well, see a lot of them around whilst I'm working in town. It looks like some 'stations' are more popular than others, I see many bikes available on some and very few on others. I think it will become even more popular once you do not need to register in advance, will allow visitors and tourists easier access.
They've been fine for me, as a generally social user outside of commuting times. If one of our nearby docking stations is full/empty, there's always availability at the other two nearby.
The lights are crap, but so are the lights that I'd also use in London on my own bike, but they do the job of making you visible to others.
As long as you are in the current bike area I don't believe that there's a better way of getting around. My own bike only comes out of the cupboard now if I'm travelling somewhere without a docking station.

They didn't but if RBS had been allowed to fail Barclays would have followed pretty quickly. These things never stop with just one institution...it's why Merrill Lynch sold themselves to Bank of America the weekend Lehman went bust...they were next. So effectively Barclays were bailed out. It was also pretty widely that Barclays were in a hell of a lot of trouble...it's just that RBS were in even more trouble so they were getting all the attention.
