Hi all,

Hoping someone might be able to advise on a little problem I am having with my new set up. I have just bought a new T.V., Blu-Ray player and 5.1 surround sound. The majority of the time everything work s really well and I am extremely happy with it all. But last night I was watching a film and a couple of times the sound cut out for about 2 or 3 seconds.

The display on the AV stayed on but the lights showing which speakers were connected all went off. This only happened a couple of times and for very short periods and the picture didn't seem to be effected at all. Just wondering if this is a common problem? I was also wondering whether it is likely to be the AV receiver or the Blu-Ray player?

I'm really not that technically minded so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers.

P.S. It is a Panasonic DMP65 and Samsung HW C560s that I am using.

KD,

Was it jst after a "loud bit"? If so, check all speaker connections. If 1 strand of cable is sticking out, next to metal (even painted metal), a large transient can shove enough current through the cable to arc, and make the amp go into protect mode briefly. I've seen that a lot on metal cased speakers, like the Kef eggs, as well as some of the (e.g Pioneer) all in one units with the little clippy bits - it's a fiddly job and easy to not get 100% right.

Other than that, not a clue =)

I can't quite remember but I do seem to remember being dissapointed that I didn't hear an explosion so very possible. I will check them all thoroughly when I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.
