Looking to buy my first M12 GTO3 Tomorrow, any tips Guys.

without any other info I would say buy on condition.... ask if it has a track day sump and an lsd (if its a 5 speed box), these are expensive items to retrofit and are really a must have if you want to venture on track.
I bought a car without either of these and bought the best condition one i found... i never regreted that decision although the car now has these fitted

Apart from the usual things to look for... As mentioned above ^
Make sure it has a limited slip diff. Open diffs are prone to failure and are a v expensive fix.
If you are going to use it on track (or take it to the Nurburgring sometime) make sure it has a track day sump. A v expensive upgrade.
6 speed is desirable if you are going to modify.
If it hasn't had a fuel pump wiring loom upgrade and an M400 fuel pump fitted, get it done soon.

As previously said, condition is key. Look for a decent service history, most of these cars go to independents which is no bad thing. It's also a good idea to check for corrosion and the condition of the chassis, particularly around the rear. The heat protection deteriorates and the rear pans encourage water to stay around the chassis.
My 3 has done 30k now on the original diff with no probs, if it does go though it's £500 for the diff but engine out so the labour can be really expensive. Also check everything works, basics really.
There's nothing I've driven that provides more smiles per mile IMO, GO ON!
Cheers

I can understand the wiring up grade, I have done mine, but why an M400 pump?, will this not over pump?Make sure it has a limited slip diff. Open diffs are prone to failure and are a v expensive fix.

I was told the standard pump was marginal at full load, so I didn't want to take the risk. I fitted an M400 pump, but not the Motorsport pump as it makes a lot of noise and was unnecessary for mods up to 420bhp IIRC.Gassing Station | Noble | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
