Hi guys, first time poster, long time reader.

What are the opinions of a a clio 172 cup? Should i save a little more for the 182 despite the hideous (imo) double exhaust? I've noticed that cock with the "172 rocket ship" rolleyes, I know it'll never be a rocket ship. Decent Hot hatch? or just a luke warm hatch? What similar sort of motors are about for about £3kish?

Only 20 so insurance is a massive contributor, unfortunately.

Deffo hot hatch.

Get the best example you can find whether it be 172 or 182.

But if you can stretch, 182 trophy all day long

Evo recently did a comparison of each generation of hot Clio. It was only an issue or two ago, so you may wish to give the back issues people a call smile

You may well find a 182 is cheaper to insure than a 172 Cup. The 172 Cup is insurance group 16+ whilst the 182 group 16 IIRC. Basically I believe the 172 Cup has worse crash statistics than any of the other 172/182. Due to a lack of ABS and stability aids, plus the ownership demographic I would imagine.

It is a proper hothatch. Has more than enough power-to-weight and ability to keep much more powerfull stuff honest.
