Afternoon,
Has anyone got any ideas on this one? My S-Type v6 has decided that its not going to run. I have managed so far to establish that if I unplug the throttle body motor the car will try to start - ie the car starts for a couple of seconds until it runs out of air, but plug the TB motor back in and we are back to cranking with no attempt at firing.
Absolutely stumped as this is exactly the same on two different throttle bodies as well.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Can't help much I'm afraid.
I assume there are no error codes/warning lights on the dash? Might be worth having the codes read anyway. My gut feeling is the mass air flow sensor is not working or the idle air control valve is stuck closed...on most case disconnecting the TB would bypass the IAC valve.
If you remove a spark plug is it wet with fuel? If it is then it's either an ignition problem (probably not from what you have said) or it's not getting air.
I assume there's nothing important you aren't saying..it hasn't run out of fuel recently or anything like that?
