I got them from the local butcher who must be mad. They are made with a 6 million scoville rated extract!! Hotter than last nights vindaloo. But still a good pork taste in them. He wants my opinion as to do a 12 million or not. Now I like hot food but the heat on these was perfect.

They are available in Alton, Hampshire. If anyone want a pack posted I could do that poss as they are made and frozen after.

I've never understood the idea of adding heat for the hell of it. Apart from drunken show-offs in indian restaurants who does this? Well, I did (before coming to my senses).

When I started cooking as a teenager one of my favourite dishes was chilli con carne. After a couple of times I started added more and more chilli until it was almost inedible. There was no pleasure in eating, it was a session of a mouthful of food/blow nose/wipe eyes/repeat. Utterly pointless and the reason I don't understand people who order (say) a phal then never finish it.

Whilst I agree with the main thrust of your post wholeheartedly, I'd definitely try these just for the hell of it.

Thing is, some of us poor souls genuinely like "hot" spices, its not about willy waving, we love it. As has been mentioned on previous threads, some people will eat highy spicy food as a form of machismo but in reality many of us just like the "burn" and enjoy the inevitable endorphin rush.

Absolutely agree - I love the flavour and the heat.

The more spicy food you eat the higher your tolerance becomes to it so the tendency over time is to increase the heat levels. Probably why some see it as willy waving - one man's Vindaloo is another man's Korma, so to speak.

Tbh I ate the other three cold the next day and they were lovely, the heat is pleasant and doesn't mask the taste of the meat. Each to there own with heat levels. Well worth another pack thought lick
