IIRC, yes.

But I took the easy option and bought a newer Chim

Can't believe I am saying this, but the "Lexus style" Fiesta lights will also fit. Not that I would recommend them.

You could try fitting the lexus style rear lights in Mat Black finish, just fitted them to my 93 Chimaera and they look pretty good, IMO that is.
