Rubbing wheel/bodywork
Discussion
Sorry to buck the trend - but mine doesn't!
Not the front anyway....
I did have a little rubbing of the near side rear against the inside-top of the arch while going around Castle Combe last year. I blame it on having a very compliant suspension setup and a very heavy passenger.
Both can be easily fixed

Had no problem with mine and it runs 245's all round as standard
Mine rubs the passenger sider rear inner wing when I run the 245's on the ex-tuscan rims. 225's are fune.
I use a harder damper setting on the rear when I wanna go "Big", but this has the disadvantage of hardening up the rear to the point it handles like a race car with minimal suspension travel

i have had the problem (drivers side) i assumed it was the spring on that side as i read somewhere that that could cause it, i was going to replace the spring and see if it made a difference
Can also be caused by bush wear causing excessive movement. YOu can run 245s but it is marginal and in many cases the ride height is adjusted or the steering rack is stopped to prevent contact.

I have a 1990 350se number 4 what number is yours.
Regarding wheel/tyre rubbing - remember the 350se body is basically a 350i which does not have the same arch clearance as the 400se. (most replies are 400se owners)
205 * 60 should clear but very very close at inner front. (mine just toaches at full lock)
225 & 55 I think will rub.
I am looking at notching the inner arch to create clearance - everywhere else seems well clear.

Don't know if they are the same offset as mine , there is only one other car with the same wheels as mine
Richard - I noted this about 4 years ago, remember the ZIL alloys supplied on this model are different to the standard 350, or the 400 replies here. The new springs improved this, but on a very hard lock you will get a minor rub. All the geometry is correct, with the detials supplied by RT racing, so its not a setup problem.
I will be supprised if you hard lock at speed, when I had the wheels off fo a proper clean up before it went away fo the winter there was no tyre damage so I suspected this was caused by the dodgy springs. Put some red paint on the outside, drive it, and see if this is still happening or caused by the old springs
