FINALLY! Many thanks to all....
Discussion
Hello Chaps and Chapesses, many thanks for all your help late last year and at the beginning of this - I have finally joined the fold with a 1998R Chimaera 400. Picked her up on friday evening from a local specialist.
She's an absolute beauty in wonderful condition, in deep Starmist Blue coachwork with Biscuit and blue hide.
First impressions are just of a lot of giggling and drooling, and trip to the local farm shop taking forty five minutes or so for no apparent reason!
So many thanks for all your assistance, for recommending The Bible for reference (it's the book of Revelation that does it for me
) and hopefully I'll finally meet some of you in the near future at a meet or two - I'm in Worcestershire.
Oh, and I'm one of the mad ones who's determined to run the little Trevor as an everyday car..... we shall see....

Simple facts, all scientifically provable:
Blue cars look better
Blue cars go faster
Blue cars handle better
Blue cars are more reliable
Blue cars hold their value better
Drivers of blue cars are more attractive to the opposite sex, are better in bed, earn more money, and even smell better
Enjoy!!

I use mine everyday and don't have any problems (apart from increased maintenance and consumables, beacuse of the extra milage).
Where is the best place for a Chimeara, in the garage, or on the road being driven?

Easy Tiger!
Nearly had a Cosmos Blue one (always loved that colour) but it was a 95M with 40k for £15500 as opposed to 98R with 25k for £16500, and silly though it sounds I love that moment when the passenger can't concieve of the "door handle" hiding under the mirror! Plus the chromed dials and so on rather swung it too. Still Cosmo, I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours?!
Just a thought or two chaps - I take it that the beastie should only be run on 98RON fuel? I'm out in the sticks and the local filler only has 97RON, and the 95RON is very tempting at 5ppl less....... (you do RON, RON, RON, you doooo RON RON....
someone get that damn tune out of my head.....) Also, is it worth me ringing Blackpool to find out the complete spec of the car? IIRC the 98 cars have a Limited Slip Diff, but how can I tell if it's got Hydratrak or whatever? (Forgot to check!)
I'm sure I'll think of other silly questions, so bear with me as I work it all out!

Black Tuscans are better than blue ones altho' I do love your profile piccie ssc1
Btw guys, you did notice that the above quote wasn't mine
but I thought it was rather apt all the same!

Optimax is best cos the engine is designed to run on 98RON. However, you can use lower octane ratings altho' some people have noticed that there is a (slight) difference in performance, eg, not such smooth running etc. I'd go for the 98RON whenever possible and use the 97RON if necessary, keeping the 95RON for emergencies!
