Any recommendations on Glasgow-ish tyre places?
Discussion
I usually go with one of the online tyre suppliers (eTyres, or Black Circles) and a mobile fitter.
Just out of curiosity though, does anyone have any other recommendations before I get something ordered? Probably going for all four tyres on both my Porsche and my wife’s Mini at the same time.

I now use MGN tyres in motherwell for all my tyres. their prices are close to black circle and were a black circle fitter until they pulled out as they kept getting all the hard jobs to do which other ones couldnt or wouldnt do. I find them good and the staff are all old hands and know what they are doing and unlike mot places will happily listen to any concerns you have about jacking cars etc

I've been using Jim Dickson in cumbernauld for years now, Always cheaper than black circles, patience required though, they're always mobbed so can sometimes take a while to get through on the phone, I recently got a full set of 4 for the ferrari for around 800 quid.

I've been using Performance Tyres for years. They've always been good on price and are very careful with your wheels.

If you are looking for a roasting deal try Cosco. Their prices are disgusting!
20% off if you buy 4 Michelins up until 22nd Nov.I have used Gordon Hazleton in Hillington for about the last 20 years - place doesn't look fancy but he's a good bloke and knows everything about wheels and tyres - in his absence see Chris.

+1 for performance tyres in Anniesland, used them recently, price was great and they were very, very careful with my car - old school technique, jack the car up with a trolley jack carefully placed, wheel nuts removed by hand with a spider, then retorqued by hand - not like costco who lift the whole car with all too speedily placed lifts and whipping the nuts off with an air gun without a care in the world for recesses in the wheels, costco may be cheap for michelins but if you value your car or wheels go elsewhere!

I've used Prestige Tyres in Busby for 10 years. Careful with car, quick service, seems to find tyres where dealers can't i.e. BWM had Michelin PS2s on backorder (and never got back to me), they got mine in 24hrs. Worth a call.
+1They were very careful with my colour coded wheels on the Porker. Recommended them many times and everyone who has used them have had good prices and good service.

They swapped over a set of tyres to a new set of alloys and one of the boys made an arse of the balancing. Went back in and he claimed my front tyres were bald and could not be ballanced (these are about half worn and no where near the wear blocks). Explained this, and the next claim was the new alloys were buckled... After much refusal to just reballance them, off i trotted. Into a local place, wheels all re-ballanced, absolutely perfect.
Guess i must have caught the boy in question on a bad day as his attitude was horrendous, but thats all it takes for them to lose out on return business.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I think I managed to phone all of them when calling round for quotes.
A lot of places simply couldn’t get the tyres I wanted (fronts were no problem, but rears proved tricky) and in the end the cheapest all-in deal was eTyres, who I’ve used before. Their Glasgow chap is good and phoning him direct rather than going via the website results in very fast service.
He’s already been round to fit my fronts and is coming back this week to do the rears (they were taking longer to order in).
