my fuel line... :(

recently i tried to start my Cerb and no way, did not start...
turned out that the fuel line fell of the fuel rail???????????????
so connected it back and yep, Cerb started no issue

But of course i had to get it suck better, to be sure it would not fell of again.

so, i did

but now it is spraying fuel over the engine...

can someone show me how it should be suck, because looks like i did it very good, untill you start the engine... fuel over it

You need the pipe to be held secure at both ends with a clip( see the attached link),

Is it a Speed six Cerbera you have?

If it is I'm sure it would have had a clip on it!! The pipe will not stay attached on it's own it has to be fitted securley with something.

I have just changed mine as it was leeking slightly I used a clip at both ends..

that is what i did, but nevertheless... perhaps it is not tight enough.
otherwise i have no clue.

But must say that it is actually a very dangerous way how the fuel line is stuck to the fuel rail.

this is not the 4.5 RR but the 4.2 enigine

Replace the entire pipe as a precaution while you're doing it, they don't last indefinitely in the hostile engine bay.

My 4.2 has a 19mm threaded union to the fuel rail and a hose barb on the pressure regulator for the return. I guess you must be talking about the return line. That should be 7x13 hose (inside diameter 7mm) and fixed with a proper fuel injection rated hose clamp. Mine is extremely tight and very difficult to remove - not insecure at all.

What size hose do you have and which style of clamp?

it is actually not the return line, it is the fuel line for fuel into the fuel rail.

clamp is 19mm, yes that could be the issue perhaps, it feels like all is stuck tight but might be the the clamp is crappy

it is actually a very risky problem and bizar that it can happen.
thing is than i noticed it because i could not start the car.
when i got out i was smelling lots fo fuel. was leaking from backside of the engine.
After removing the panel, i saw that the fuel line was not stuck to the fuel rail.
Lots of fuel can out.

if this would have happend while driving, there would have been a big fire

It is a standard JIC fitting so it should be completely secure when it is tight. Do you mean it is loose where the JIC adaptor screws into the fuel rail or where the fuel line goes onto the JIC coupling?

If the threads have crossed on the 19mm nut then it should be curable with a new fuel line. If its the JIC adaptor then that is easily replaced. If its where the adaptor screws into the fuel rail its self you can either helicoil the rail or get an oversize JIC adaptor and drill and retap the fuel rail.
