Today I really fancy a Rover P5, I was watching one on ebay all week and came so very close to bidding just as it ended.

I like the saloon, very ministerial, and the coupe, very man about town, equally. I fancy buying a 3 litre, binning the lump and dropping in a Rover 4.6 V8 with EFI. Reckon it would be an ok daily driver.

The British Government bought a batch of these when production stopped to be used for ministerial purposes, when Maggie moved into Downing Street in 1979 she arrvied in a P5, then a 7 year old car.

I saw one of these with the 3.5 rumbling around town, they look really classy and well proportioned. I thought at the time it would make a nice toy, if you like them go for it.

I prefer the 'coupe'.
