How hot/ warm

So just been out for two hours in my 97 4.2 cerbera
The heater switch is on but not a lot comes out , fan runs can turn fan up and down
But not what I would call hot, is this the norm or do they get hot

What sort of driving? above 70mph and I only get cold air, but I've learnt you can block up the cold air intake to rectify this. Around town its fine though. Not boiling hot, but definately between warm and hot.

Mine is exactly the same, it was cold on the motorway this afternoon, even checked the water level as I was that cold.

Well one of the dealer mechanics did it first I believe???

The hot inlet is passenger side front, next to the indicator.
This allows cold wet air into the hot matrix.
So they blocked the air flow path through the inner wing and then opened up the inner wing in the cabin passenger foot well.
This makes it a recirculation only heater, so to avoid misting up, you need a bit of cold from the driver side front indicator inlet.

However, as speed too much cold air gets forced through in the winter.

Even on mine with the mod, in winter I block up the cold hole almost fully and just open the window if required for a touch more to balance the hot (it gets quite hot!) with a bit of cool air.

So you could try just blocking the cold side and see what happens. 1/2 a tennis ball someone suggested once!

I use the squishy ball trick in the drivers side inlet to keep warm in the winter, as well as the reciruculation mod mentioned. Having fitted an oil temperature gague a few years ago, I now partially block off the oil cooler, and in the depths of winter about a 3rd of the radiator, otherwise the engine (and therefore me) never get warm.

Yes that would be very helpful if pictures could be provided. I have the very same issue, 70mph plus just results in the cabin temperature dropping like a stone, whereas 60 mph is fine.

sorry were are you putting squishy balls,where is the drivers side inlet

right had a good look whats going on with air intakes and heating today
found two holes the size of a tennis ball on ein each foot well, the one in drivers aide lets cold cold air in to the cabin, the other on just plain cold ,so blocked drivers side up so rush of cold on legs but still not hot or warm.
so are there in takes in the arches that can be blocked up to increase the temp
need to sort this out as its getting colder now and i still want to drive over the winter but with no heat that will be hard.
my first tiv over heated cabin temb about 70 most drives now my second tiv about 7

mines nice and toasty, in fact it's that hot i need to open the windows to let some cool air in.

and my wipers work
now that ive said that it's all going to go horribly wrong now.
