Hi,

I want to mount my 42" Panasonic flat screen to the wall with the ability to pull it out and swivel it at an angle. I have tried two brackets so far, but neither seem to be up to the job. The first one had a single arm, and once the TV was mounted it just couldn't handle the weight, and was bending the arm downwards. I changed it for one with two arms, but that has the same issues although not as bad. It's not like the TV is heavier than other makes.

These are the two I have tried:

Can anyone recommend me one that is man enough for the job?

I got the flat bracket which lets you tilt about 15 degrees to get to the connections.
It really is a sturdy bit of kit, look at the reviews, even comes with a built in spirit level.

We've tried many different brands over the years. The screens are either level when fully in, or on the piss when pulled out. The very best we have come across is the one below. It wont be cheap but the build quality and mechanism is stunning. It wont be cheap!

I bought the first one from Amazon (although it was £29.99 when I got mine hehe) last week and I'm putting it up today. I looked seriously at the Future Automation ones and they really do look like great kit but I thought for £29.99 I could take the risk and see what happens.

I should be putting it up today so I'll let you know how I get on biggrin

Well RGRacin I just got it up and hung my 50" plasma on it and it's not bad at all. As E31Shrew said you have to be careful to get it up straight and there is an onboard spirit level for that but also enough play in the bracket position on the back of the screen to make minor adjustments.

All in all very happy. The spec says it supports up to 75kg and it is of reassuringly solid/heavy build. I'd definitely recommend it smile.

The bracket was secure against the wall level. The problem was the arm has two bars attached to the wall back plate, and then a weakness where it goes to one arm for the TV plate. this single arm would twist at the pivot end due to the weight. My 42" weighs in at around 40kg, so nowhere near the 75kg limit.

Oh crikey, I completely misread your post, I thought you were looking at the two you had mentioned and didn't know which one to get.

So in other words the bracket I installed will fail over time. Oh well, when it does I shall get the Future Automation one hehe

Most of these lower cost brackets are not designed to be moved in and out and adjusted constantly, the joints and arms are not robust enough. They are often fitted into corners etc where a flat bracket will not work, once installed the TV's hardly ever move.

To be fair, you might be ok. Mine didn't fail over time, the weight of the TV twisted the arm as soon as it was attached to it. Needless to say I took it off straight away.

Thanks for the links, I'll do some more research and report back.
