Help needed on fridge freezers
Discussion
After many years of putting up with a leaky fridge freezer my wife has persuaded me to invest in a new one.
We had chosen a Samsung RL38 SBSW. The advice said it requires a 5 cm gap on either side and at the back. Obviously I do not want it sticking out 5 cm from the wall if I can help it.
I called Samsung and they said this is correct, but would also be the case with every fridge freezer on the market in order to help with air flow.
I then called a well known electrical retailer, and they said the only reason was so the door could be opened and no space was really required at the back.
Does anyone have have any expert knowledge please, particularly regarding Samsung.
Many thanks in advance!

We've just got a new Samsung fridge freezer and it also requires the gap. As there is a vent at the very bottom of the back of it, we intend to remove a small section of the skirting board where it will sit to reduce the distance it sits out from the wall. Ours sits on it's own, not surrounded by fitted kitchen.
