How similar are the various Fiat group 1.9 JTD engines?

Does anyone know how similar, or indeed different, the various version of the 1.9 JTD engine actually are?
I have a Multipla JTD (110bhp) that I feel would be much more fun if it had the Alfa Romeo version on the engine fitted (175bhp for the JTDm)
Here is where I fall down though. I don't know what the differences are.
Obviously the JTDm has a different rail and injectors, but is that it?
Could I just swap the engine - would the ECU from the Alfa allow my Fiat dials and trip computer to work? Would the immobiliser have a fit? You'd think it'd all just fit together and be basically the same to save development costs, but you never know! Or could I keep my Fiat engine, add a JTDm rail and injectors and get it re-mapped?
Any advice from anyone who has done anything vaguely similar with Fiat engines much appreciated for my research.

I would say this is a non-starter. The Multipla engine is 8V, the higher power JTDs have 16V cylinder heads. In addition your multipla clutch and gearbox would probably go up in smoke. Obviously everything is possible if you throw piles of money at it but that would be somewhat foolish on a Multipla JTD with a max value of £5k. My advice would be to remap your existing engine, you could prob get 140 - 150 bhp going down this route, maybe along with a higher flowing air filter, get rid of the EGR valve and try and find a sports exhaust - think Ragazzon do one.
The Multipla engine will be the 8 valve 1.9 while the Alfa one is presumably a 16 valve 2.0 litre.
I'm not sure if the latter is a completely new engine.
Prior to that there was a 1.9 16 valve that had 150BHP - it was used in the Bravo Sport 150 and various Alfas.
I think the Fiat 1.9JTD you have will be the same one as the Stilo 115BHP and that it ended up in the Punto Sporting with 130BHP.
If you're looking for more power it was said that the Stilo version could be got to 175BHP with a chip, filter and sports exhaust.

Not exactly - there's a 'Sport' button which changes the map. Unfortunately it doesn't stay set, so you have to press it every time you start the car. I'm sure somebody told me that recently (or maybe I dreamt it

I'm told that the gearbox is the same as the one in the 147 - although presumably with a lower final drive, so it shouldn't be a problem to swap that over - and six gears would be nice to have anyway.
The older 147s also have the 1.9 with an 8 valve head as in my Multipla, so I presume the rest of the hardware (gearbox, clutch etc.) is largely the same, or at least bolt on replaceable. I had sort of forgotten that the JTDm is 16 valve though, so obviously the block on mine and the newer engines is different
I think my options are:
1) take out my engine and gearbox. Put in an engine and gearbox from a 147/GT
2) there is a 150bhp map for my engine I understand, so I could get that.
Problems with 1 will be making everything work - instruments, immobiliser etc. I don't think the gearbox swap will be too much of a problem. The advantage is that you can tune the 1.9 JTDm to 200bhp/300lb/ft, which in a 1300kg Multipla will be hilarious.
2 is the much more sensible option, but I'd be wary of tuning my engine as it's old anyway (110k miles) and I'd always be hankering after that extra 50bhp.
