I had a drive of an XJ
Discussion
....and I liked it (have you got the song in your head yet?)
It was a rather tatty (sorry Martin) 150,000 mile Sport (95), but despite this it was a nice drive. I think I might want one after shunning them for all these years.
The interior was nice, the engine was still strong and there is a certain appeal to hacking around London in a Jaguar.

No, no, no Paul. Sure enough the XJ is a lovely motor, but you know you really want that Merc.
You know the one.....

The way they cope with the miles is awesome, mine's just approaching 140k and now I've fitted new shock absorber bushes it's so tight and quiet. Including buying it, an MOT test and parts/oil I've yet to break £400 total.
Needs LPG though 12.8mpg average over last 1300 miles and I live in the middle of nowhere.

I really like that (very much) but I would only buy it if I had a garage to keep it in excellent order. It's too good to leave it on the street through winter....I feel sorry for the W124 as it is You know the one.....
