Latest Xbox update - issues?

So I performed the latest Xbox Dashboard update the other day, and since then my xbox wont load properly! It does the xbox logo on start up, then crashes before the dashboard. I've tried my hard drive in another xbox and it works fine, so it's as if the software update has damaged the hard ware? Anyone else had similar problems?

I have an Xbox 360 Arcade - a budget model with no HD.

I tried to run the update but it fell over as my only storage at the time - 256m card - didn't have 180m free. After failing to run, suddenly I couldn't watch movies streamed over the network.

I plugged in an 8GB USB stick, formatted it and re-ran the update. All seems to work now.

Mine now seems to be ignoring my startup preferences. I tell it to autostart disc but everytime I power on I get dashboard, not COD. Not impressed as it was fine before.

Don't like the new dashboard. Things seem much harder to find.

Like game DLC, I can't go into my library > 'game details' > downloads, anymore, you have to go in through the game library channel thing.

Doesn't look as good any more either IMO, like Windows Basic (maybe even classic) theme compared to Aero theme.
