Guys,

I need inspiration!

Got a party on 20th and it'a fancy dress, theme is 80s.

Problem is, i'm also saving for a winter car so don't have a lot (read any) money to spend.

Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone got any outfits? wink

Best i've got at the mo is shaving my beard and hair and going as Kojak biggrin

I went to one a few years ago as Phil Oakey from the Human League. Long black wig cut off on one side, dangly ear ring thing and a black suit. I'll get my coat!

which might have worked if it was a 70s party...

do you have some tight fitting burgundy trousers left at the back of the wardrobe at your parents? a white polo shirt under a charity shop argyll sweater, white socks and either DM shoes or horrible pointy ones and you're away.

PM Kenny (KMM). Apparently he has a number of spandex outfits with shoulder pads from his time as a Bronski Beat groupie....

If it paid well then that may have been an option....anyway, what's wrong with Bronski Beat??

OJ...you're on form tonight...have you been drinking or something?

Dress type jacket with sleeeves rolled up. Punk and MOD were still about, fairly easy to kit yourself out. I'm sure i kept a sex pistols t-shirt with destroy on it from years ago.

The Bronski Beat part ain't too far from the current favourite:

fred perry, braces, jeans (bottoms rolled up) black shoes, white socks and crew cut - instant Jimmy Somerville biggrin

Some good suggestions, but I really am talking bargain bucket here guys - trying to save every penny towards my cheap winter motor instead.

st timing - would loved to have bought a Morph suit for the party - www.morphsuits.co.uk

White shirt, white socks, dark glasses = an easy Tom Cruise from Risky Business. What you wear on your bottom half depends on how brave you feel, but I went with a couple of pairs of white boxers...

Was all good until another bloke turned up at the same party with the same idea as me biggrin
