Right, let's see how long this thread lasts. wink

I think my eyes are about to bleed from the number of used car ads I've been looking at recently. It's all become a field of blurred cars, trim levels and service history.

I'm looking for a Touring. And that's er.. basically it. Condition is paramount. Spec, not really fussed. Though must be an auto.

So, any good E39s out there that want a new home?

I'm considering selling my 530iA Touring in the not too distant future, it's not perfect but it's had all the major stuff done so potential bills shouldn't be too big for the time being.

I am down in Somerset which might be too far for you to travel for a look? I work in Bristol if that helps at all.

PM me if you want some details.

Probably a bit too far away if I'm honest. But if you get a mo, can you PM details/photo?

Cheers

Sure, totally understand.

Will send some details when I get home tonight, might be useful as point of reference if nothing else.

London->Somerset too far?! Pah! biggrin

I went from Somerset all the way to East Sussex to pick up my E39 540 Touring. And to Maidstone for the E34 540 Touring before that.

Well worth the drive driving

What are e39's worth? I have a 99/T 528i SE Auto Touring with 52k on the clock, met blue with biege leather and FSH - not perfect cosmetically, couple of dinks and scratches and some wear on the front seats (previous owner lived in central london) but mechanically fine and pulls well.

Not sure whether to sell and go for a higher mileage E46 or just keep it for a couple of years but can't find a suitable comparison to price against

I sold my 51 Plate E39 530i SE auto touring a couple of months ago. 140k miles 3 owners from new FBMWSH Silver with black cloth intereior. I advertised it at £3k and it went for just a tad under.

hmm about where I was thinking - £2500ish or thereabouts - probably best to keep hold of it for now - better the devil and all that... smile
