Quick accessories advice...

OK my pedal powered piston headers...

Having tried a few bikes over the weekend I have decided to go for the following on the C2W scheme...

As the allowance is for a bike plus accessories up to £1,000, I thought I might as well add a few essentials to the list e.g. bottle & cage, pump (ideally with guage and small enough to take on a ride out) plus anything else you lot advise.

I've got pedals covered with these...

You'll want a speedo (wireless is neater), lights (brighter the better), clothing - lycra shorts, tights, tops, waterproof jacket etc, shoes.....the list is endless but id say they're essentials along with what you mentioned.

Helmet
Jacket (Gore bikewear are my favourite, Altura get good reviews too)
Gloves

would be my minimum. Then on top of that you could have

Padded shorts/bib shorts.
Wicking cycle top
Multi-tool
Track pump for home, double-shot mini pump for rides

I would probably add Chain Reaction Cycles and Wiggle to your preferred online cycling shop.

Ewen has the right list but add locks if you ever actually go anywhere.
A speedo is nice but not a must have.

I would also buy tyre levers and some spare tubes - although a pump is helpful, often the tyre has gone flat for a reason. One which pumping it back up won't fix.

if you are planning on doing wet commutes a set of mudguards would be handy

Mudguards.
Gloves.

Helmet if you wish.
Speedo if you'd rather turn your commute into a testosterone fuelled TT as opposed to a relaxing way to begin/end your working day.

Oh, and a big fk-off lock.

Awesome things, and you can stick on a pair of 19mm slicks if you wish and it'll be on par with what you've gone for on the roads, with the exception that you can use this quite well off-road also.
