Occasionally getting a bearing screech sound when setting off from cold under a little load. Guessing it is the clutch release bearing or similar, so with 46K miles up on the clock I was thinking it might be easier to just get a new clutch kit fitted?

Just want to make sure I am not talking nonsense before spending out?
If not, should I just get a Mini centre to do it or am I better going to a specialist?
What sort of costs should I expect?
Finally, am I best just putting in an OEM replacement for a daily driver (no track use, mainly wife's car) or is there a better after market option?

Thanks,

Jon.

get the bearing, clutch and bearing guide

Fitting in the midlands is normally £350

It not a hard job but a big job, I have done 5 clutch changes this year on minis. (I'm not a mechanic but I have built a couple of minis and know them inside out ~ also I charge £100 less to do the job...)
