Is there anyone other than DMS (not that im anti-DMS, just curious) that is reputable when it comes to BMW (E60/E61 M5 in particular)tuning around these parts? Ive used Kartechinc (poole) before but im not sure on thier maps for this car.

When I had my Bmw, I used this place a few times, they know their stuff.

Or there's MVT in Holten Heath, comes highly recommended in this area.

CA Automotive have a place in Reading, they have veyr good reviews and import/export ECUs so must be doing somehitng right. However, they did mine and I was less than happy and a lot of problems. Ended up at DMS, did a map from standard and a different map after mods. Not sure where evolve are based but they have seem to have a good rep also.

Thanks folks. I'm still trying to weigh up if a remap is gonna be worth it given the considerable cost and limited gains. I am keen to achieve the improved driver experience the many M5 owners claim but is it enough? I can't change the headers or any other mechanical parts as my car is under BMW warranty and I don't want to void it, otherwise I'd be going down that route. I'll keep thinking.

I always use Bartley's for my BMW on the outskirts of Southampton as do many of the guys on here. Not sure if they do chips though. Would definitely recommed them for BMW work- great service and reasonable pricing.

My mate had his BMW e46 320 Club sport remapped at kartechnic at hatch pond. Didn't take long and they seemed todo a really good job. Spoke to him the otherday and his BMW is still fine and still fast, so might be worth speaking to them.

Already got Kartechnic noted in my OP. I had one of thier maps on my RS6 but i was never happy with it. I think they do decent generic maps for average cars but im wary about having another map done by them on the M5. They didnt know that the gearbox had to be mapped to match the engine on the RS6 which is kind of a basic mistake for a good garage like thiers. I do like thier servicing though. Very thorough.
