All season tyres

Need to put some front tyres on my daily hack (Pug 306 Dturbo) and will probably change all 4 tyres at the same time, I am a bit anal like that.

I am a big fan of using winter tyres, but I can't really justify the cost of a set of summers and winters plus wheels on such a low value car. The intention is to run this one cheaply!

I can fit some budget tyres for £150-160 or spend a bit more £170-190 and get premium tyres fitted.

I have been offered some "All Season" tyres, the Kleber Quadraxer and the Pirelli P2500 4S for not much more (£205 for the Klebers, £215 for the Pirellis).

Are these the holy grail of tyredom? Adequate in the summer (all I need) and much better in the cold/ice/snow than summers? Or are they not good at either?

Sort of a jack of all trades, master of none. All season tyres are really not designed for snow or ice. More like "OK in the summer and OK when it is wet" type scenarios.

The Klebers have the snowflake symbol on them, I'm not sure about the Pirelli. Would save on using chains on some of the roads I travel on in France where the local Gendamerie check before they let you on the road!

I'm loath to spend £250 on winter tyres, £190 on summers and £100 on a new set of wheels on a car that only cost me 800 notes! That said, last winter was my only winter without proper winter tyres and it was dreadful.

Unfortunately, there are next to no reviews of the P2500 that I can find, the Kleber has some good German reviews but is quite newly released so not many.
