Gallardo Clutch
Discussion
Hi Guys
If you own a gallardo could you tell me how long your clutches are lasting? Any horror stories? Im away to buy a manual Gallardo with 15000 miles with the original clutch. The car looks good just a little worried about the clutch.
Buying my first Lambo so any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers

I'm pretty sure that clutch won't have much life left in it. At least if you buy E-Gear you can get the clutch tested for wear by an expert who can tell you what percentage has been worn.If you own a gallardo could you tell me how long your clutches are lasting? If you drive it, stick it in 4th in really low revs and tickle it up to speed - if the clutch is on it's way out, it should slip under that sort of pressure.
I was told that about the E gear models but think im just gonna have to take the risk. If it goes fair enough just hear so many stories of people replacing them and within a few thousand miles going again without hard driving. Surely they must be fitted wrong? Thanks for the advice in 4th gear will defo give that a go. Thanks for the advice.
I got my manual Gallardo (On its first clutch) at 23k miles, I changed the clutch at about 28k miles, it didnt really need doing at that time, just squealed slightly pulling away, I am sure it would have lasted over 30k miles. All depends how the car is driven.
When I bought mine, I put money aside, as I assumed I would need a new clutch at some time.

Hi
That looks like a good buy, maybe have a word with seller about your concerns with
the clutch, might be able to come to some arangement if the clutch goes in the near future.
There are quite a few people selling/installing clutches around 2k - 2.5k ££.see ph classifieds
Looks like that car has been well cared for.
Good luck .

must admit that the drivers side seat looks a bit battered and worn for that mileage.
My 07 has done 13K so slightly less but doesn't look nowhere near as worn as that....
Would do a history check if I were you. So find out how many owners and locations if possible then ensure it has been serviced properly and then check out the garages to see what work has been done on it etc..etc....
Most garages are more then helpful when it comes down to this....
My clutch from a visual inspection has still plenty left in it at similar mileage but as Dave says, £2.5K to get a clutch replaced is quite small change in the grand scheme of things.
