Hi all,

Never posted anything on this section b4, usually hanging around on the TVR T350, Sagaris forums.

Anyway, is it me or is MW2 so much more detailed, realistic than Arcadey Black Ops. Never have ever been a fan of anything Treyarch as ive always said that Infinity Ward always get it right, tons of detail, pretty realistic and gets away from the crappy ARCADE fell that they all seem to be pushing towards. Ive played BOps for about 2 hours and im not a fan at all, but MW2 i love.

If you go thro a hedge, a tree or bushes is makes a proper ruflign sound, not on BO. If you shoot the ice, pictures, clocks etc etc of the wall they all fall off. Not on Black Ops. They have kept those stupid sounds the bloke makes that echo when throwing grenades and stuff. ECHO in a middle of a Field?????? Not even Bolt could sprint the speed the bloke on BO can. Rubbish!

Its not just this its loads of stuff thats makes me think in future anything Treyarch ill keep clear. Never liked COD3 or W@W and this one feels just as arcadey again.

Cant win em all hey!

Me neither, not because I'm crap at it. I'm pretty good if i decide that i've done enough suiciding. But the excitement and sense of fun just isnt there.

WaW never interested me as much as COd 4 either.

Think I may sell it. I'd like fallout and Dead rising

had about 20 games on multiplayer today and i am disapointed, maybe because mw2 was such an epic game.
in mw2 you are drawn into the game with the sound, constant action, bombs its so involving that you cant put it down, and when you do you just cant wait to get back on.
i came away from a few hours play tonight on BO and it hasnt left me with the same sence of WOW i need more of this!
maybe it will grow on me?
i dont think you will ever beat mw2 for multiplayer, it is just so good.
will i trade it in for another shooter game? NO because whatever shooter game i buy will have the same problem, ITS NOT MW2.

I love black ops tbh, both are arcadey, and infinity ward games are more polished, in an ideal world, id like black ops gameplay with infinity ward polish and shine.

This is something I noticed from the in game videos I've seen and has been an age old bugbear of mine. Part of the problem I believe is that years ago developers started to heavily invest in the use of triggered visual effects as you progress through a game environment so that it (is believed it) immerses you in the action and gives the game cinematic set pieces, the problem with this style of 'instant atmosphere', for me, was that I regarded it as a ghost train / on rails style of entertainment with limited atmospheric interactivity beyond triggering these visuals, basically I see this as the dated preserve of previously limited hardware when seen on games like Sewer Shark on the Mega CD or Microcosm for the CDTV and is a push from developers in the wrong direction. In fact this was a problem I found irritating many years ago and thought back then that this was not the way forward when developing interactive games with solid and realistic environments which exude realism, which is the foundation on which atmosphere is built.

Anyone know the best place to trade in? I feel like I've made a 43 quid mistake.

I'm feeling how I felt when I bought World at War a couple of years ago. CoD4 was truly epic, and I just expected so much from WaW. I traded it in a couple of weeks later.

I'll give it a chance. I've not played hardcore yet, and I think I'll like it because (for me) the guns feel so weak, and take too long to kill someone.

Have to agree, totally rubbish compared to MW2, I really can't get over how laggy, jerky, slow and poor the multiplayer is.. Graphics are rubbish, and it just dosn't "feel" right at all.

MW2 has it's faults, but Black ops is not in the same world, let alone league when it comes to game play. The thing that REALLY irks me is the appaling melee attack, I seem to miss 8/10 stabs only to get insta-killed by the bloke I was just trying to stab!

Played 5 hours now, going to give it a few more, then onto Ebay it goes..

Very dissapointing....

Come on chaps, how can anyone say this is crap when comparing it to one of the most disappointing shooters ever to grace the COD name. Black Ops, from what i've seen and played so far, is so much better than MW2.

Lots of people seem to be moaning about lag, but MW2 was hideous for this. I have witnessed a bit of lag but nothing so bad that it has stopped me playing. MW2 was buggy, glitched, and not at all as 'polished' as everyone is making out.

I guess it's personal opinion really. I do find it funny though that most people seem disappointed with this game because they are rubbish at it smile

Same here i'm a massive mw2 fan and i really expected a lot better than this from black ops.I played a few hours last night and got to level 10 and then got bored & came off. I feel that the game times are too long and there isn't enough player feedback to get me excited.
I went back onto mw2 and the difference was night and day

BLACK OPS YOU SUCK....soapbox

So glad I haven't gone and bought this after reading people's comments and general disappointment.

Think I'll stick with Battlefield 2 and MW2 a while longer.

+1 I only play campaign as I don't have time for Multiplayer but the campaign is rubbish compared to MW1 and MW2. Far to Hollywood and rushed, no atmosphere.

Will be trading it in for something more fun soon.
