Some help here chaps. I have been asked to attend an interview for this role. I have already had an interview with them, but this was over two years ago. So my recollection of it is very vague.

They have advised me that they will ask me to perform a 'series of tests that need to be completed prior to the interview'. Only then will they proceed with the interview itself.

My question is, as the role is 1st, 2nd and 3rd line based where inbound broadband and telecommunications support will be given, what type of questions will be asked? And what are these series of tests?

This may sound crazy, but rather than asking randoms off the internet, how about asking the company themselves.

I did. Got very minimal out of them.

Nope. Was hoping someone has had some sort of experience with them before. Or even experience of technical questions commonly asked in interviews like these.

They may well use some standard Numeracy, Literacy, problem solving etc tests, I attended a test and interview day at Triumph where they used standard bought in tests for mechanical aptitude, problem solving and maths the questions where easy enough but the time limits made it harder.

They might use an online test for ability/ personality tests and psychometric assessments depending on the company.

Plenty online to try - starter for 10:

Crazy idea - they might ask something related to the role.

If it's in BB support I'd expect questions like;
if a customer phones up and says their internet is not working, what questions would you ask them / further information would you require?
How would you respond to a customer who is being agressive over the phone / saying their internet has gone down and they need it fixing NOW!
A Customer is complaining their internet is slow, what information would you require / is there anything you might suggest to speed up their internet.

Things like that..

And...

How would you deal with:

An abusive customer who is swearing and ranting
A customer asking personal questions
A customer who is clearly very confused and needs more basic computer instruction (on switch, etc)

Hmmm... I should hopefully be okay. Was just unsure what they ask as it is quite a different role to my current one. I think I have some brushing up to do.

It doesn't help that my current employer has let me go today. No reason given. s.

Congrats! Have a beer

Was the advice useful? Did they ask anything like the stuff we suggested?

They did indeed. Then they gave me 4 short tests in grammar, spelling, mathematics and awareness. All in all I was thankfully well prepared.
