Hi,

I remember a few years back, before i got my license ect, the school sent us on a Safe drive stay alive "show". It was more or less a shock tactic which tried to scare people into being more careful on the roads. From what i remember it was a very emotional day for most people and recently I've been talking to a friend who just went to that "show". She was very upset at the whole experience nd could be put off of driving.

Thinking of the issue more and more it's got me thinking, is it right? Is it right to be scaring 16/17 year olds into being affraid of driving before they even get their license? I really do think that younger people need to be taught to be safe, but i'm sure there should be a more passive way of doing so at the same effect!

Yup, very right. It's either scare the crap out of them now, or wait until they do it themselves by going sideways into a sunshine bus full of disadvantaged children after they were racing their mates Clio too fast into a roundabout.

Don't know where the sunshine bus bit came from, but you get the picture!
