I have just acquired a Road Angel and first impressions are very good -at least for the fixed cameras - plenty of warning and not missed one yet (as far as I know!!). However, what about this "laser detector"? I was driving on the M40 towards Beaconsfield this morning when all of a sudden the device leaps into flash and bleep mode. Check my speed (perhaps just slighlty above 70) brake a bit and have a good look around and behind but I can't see anything that resembles a scumvan. Road was clear and empty. Was this alarm true or false? Do I now have to sweat out the next 14 days? Anyone any experience of this?

The R.A is designed to give you plenty of warning about Vans n gun holding scum. You should be fine the R.A goes off if it detects even a small amount of laser light. so all the bleeping probably saved you a ticket.

Ideal scamera van conditions

Just because you can't see them means nothing.
They can probably see you.

If it was a laser alert on the Road Angel then the best thing is to slow right down to legal speed.

I have only seen a laser alert once on my Road Angel and saw nothing, but better safe than sorry.
