Can any body tell me how good these are ?? before i part with £ 515 of hard earned cash .

Just do a quick google. I'd never heard of it and was horrified at the price. First link I clicked on - who sells them - said "While this was good in its day its now superceeded by GPS based units for detection of Truvelo and SPECS cameras which the Valentine cannot detect."

I also always thought that typically by the time your unit was alerted to a laser it was too late anyway.
