Having just bought myself a nice shiney new plasma, I thought I'd get Sky HD. Checking my account on line, I discovered that I've gone over my broadband allownace (I'm on the '2gb lite' package), pretty much every month since I got it (around 4gb/month). There was a note on there saying that one more month and I'll be 'upgraded' to the unlimited package, which is £7.50/month.

I'm only on the basic sky package and can see that with all these extra charges, the monthly bill soon adds up. I'm been with them a while, so anybody had experience of getting some form of inclusive deal?

We have Sky (TV/Broadband/Phone) i have just phone up to cancel as Virgin are offering a decent deal in the area.

They matched the deal as long as i upgraded to HD. But they have given me 50% off the HD Subscription for the next 12 months. I have been with sky for 4 year though.

Phone up and threaten to leave. They do have a dedicated team willing to keep you on as a customer if you are happy to haggle with them

It won't be the retention team that piss you off, it will be the billing team after you've been overcharged for 6 months as they will have no record of the 'offer' you agreed with the retention team. Then they'll accuse you of lying, refuse to accept the previous 5 months refunds were valid and then refuse to put you through to a manager to get it sorted. You'll then cancel and they'll chase you unsuccessfully for the £47 they say you owe them for 3 years with a selection of debt agencies.

Or was that just me smile

wkers. fking hate Sky.

BT will do 10GB a month for £4.99, Sky will only offer either 2GB or unlimited no deals. I have just upgraded to HD and got free install, new dish, 50% of HD subs.
