After having my car serviced I noticed that my oil pressure is very low when warm, when moving im at about 30-40 but at a hot idle im only on 10! Also the oil pressure light sometimes flickers when in traffic at idle.
After doing a search I changed the oil pressure relief spring, but its not made any difference.... Anyone have any ideas? Dont want to be driving her around while she's like this. I know that the pressure gauge and low pressure light come from 2 different pickups, so its either something to do with the relief system or the pump, but if the pump is run by the engine then I don't see how it can be pumping less oil than before the service?!
Just spent a small fortune on a new gerabox, clutch and 12k service so really dont want to be shelling out any more money!

They could have fitted a cheap and nasty oil filter

That makes for interesting reading, and sounds similar to my problem.... Ill have a look in the morning what has been fitted, cheers for that GrayCheck this thread out

I notice you have a 4.5, mine ticks over at 40psi minimum even when roasting hot and idling (i.e. post a prolonged leg stretch). 10psi is way too low! I'd go as far as saying get the car recovered to somewhere that can sort it rather than driving it any further if you can't work it out yourself. Check if the oil level is low, it could be something simple like the oil pressure relief valve being stuck open and needing to be replaced. As has been said if you have a low oil pressure, you could make your bill at lot bigger than it was by using the car in this condition.

Mine has had a similarly low hot oil pressure since I had it (3+ years). Having changed the relief valve spring and plunger with no difference (more than once!), I just decided to live with it.
The pressure goes up to 40+psi with any revs over 900 and the cams are showing no signs of wear at the last 2 12k services. I generally set the idle to closer to 1000 rpm at which speed I have full pressure anyway. I have just done a season of sprinting and its no worse and no better so it is perhaps not the disaster you might fear.

Take it back to the garage ask them to explain why the pressure is so low after the service. If its the same as that happened to mine then its a bottom end rebuild as the garage who had been working on it had knocked the bottom out of my engine, and I have a good idea how. They also managed to "loose" parts of my car whilst it was there but to there credit did pay for replacement of the missing parts.
By the way all I will say is that they were located in the southern half of the country......Hope yours is something much simpler but I doubt it being a Cerb.

Generally *any* pressure means you have oil flow, so I agree that it shouldn't be a problem. The pressure goes up to 40+psi with any revs over 900 and the cams are showing no signs of wear at the last 2 12k services. I would be concerned though, especially that others experience higher numbers. It does point to something amiss.
I would definitely be concerned about a sudden change. I would suggest the OP goes back to the garage that did the recent service.
In my case the pressure has never been any different and hasn't change in my ownership. By 1500rpm it is up to around 60 psi - its just low when hot at idle.

Cheers for all the Ideas guys.... Been working this week so only just had a chance to look.
The oil filter I have fitted is a FRAM PH5443, can someone please confirm this is the correct one? Failing that I will change the oil relief valve (and ring the garage)

A standard Landrover V8 one is what's normally fitted, so this should be fine:

OK, Cheers Steve. Looks like I'll be changing the oil relief valve. Anyone done it before? I changed the spring with no bother, but im guessing I will have to drop the oil?http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=56874
