I expect this will get moved to the TV bit pretty quickly but .....

What's the consensus view on this 'show'?

It seems to consist of both of them eating in expensive restaurants and doing schoolboy type impressions.

I'm thinking Emperor's Clothes WRT the 'hidden depths' of complexity and irony that I'm obviously missing.

Still quite like it though.

BTW Coogan's not ageing well.

Watched the 1st one and I'm still not sure. They're both top class and everyone at work says "The Trip" is brilliant. I'll watch a few more before I make up my mind.

I didn't really get what it's supposed to be and I was disappointed by the first one until Rob started doing his Michael Caine impressions which had me in stitches.

Actually it reminds me a bit of Seinfeld.

"It's about nothing."

Watched both episodes on iplayer earlier this evening. Also not too sure what to make of it, although I did find myself laughing lots during episode 2 (much less in the first...).

For me they are some of the biggest s on telly, hence why I cannot even bring myself to watch one ep.
I do like some of Coogans characters, but the Welsh has always come across as a weapons grade cock in interviews and things.

The brief bit I watched was fantastic. Coogan's impression of a silenced pistol was terrific!

I dont think I've ever seen Brydon out of character, now that you mention it.

I remember staying up to watch an Oscars show, he was one of the pundits on the couch, he just ruined it.
