Off road adventure holidays in the UK - Motor Safari
Discussion
Hi,
I originally posted this in off road, but I thought it's actually a bit more general as it's the sort of thing you buy as a red letter day style gift, than what hardened off roaders would be doing in their own vehicles.
I’m looking to book a hotel and tie it in with an off road experience in the spring next year for my birthday and we came across this site: http://www.motor-safari.co.uk/4x4/boys-own-adventu... They seem to offer an adventure where you have a guide, a four wheel drive and you go off on an adventure tailored to suit you, staying in either hotels or camping in Wales. Has anyone done this? Or does anyone know of any other companies that offer a similar thing?
It seems just what I’m looking for, a few days away staying in nice hotels, with a big 4x4, driving up mountains, through rivers and across beaches, sounds great!!
I’d be interested to hear your thoughts, comments or alternatives.

i can personally recommend www.4x4adventures.co.uk
the owner is a landrover experience instructor, as well as an ex-army chap- real "action man" type of guy- has some amazing sites in the soutwest and will scare the pants off you at 3mph.
He's a bit more "intense offroad" than greenlaning trips- think water over the bonnet, mud up the side of the car, vertical drops etc etc
depends on what ou are loooking for!
you could also try kankoo (knakku?!? spelling?) in the lake district- they aren't cheap but have heard good things.

OP - the link in your first post doesn't seem to work.
Some of my friends went on a 5-day offroading trip in Wales last year - full package including hire of Landrovers. They loved it. I think it was in the Brecon Beacons area. Will ask when I see them tonight and post back.
Knowing them it won't have been cheap - they're all rich b
ds!
