its a shame i thought he was just going to be putting his head down and getting on with it like vs stoke he was great.
but slowly his nasty side is drifting in again.
his comments that people shouldnt look at the actions of a footballer off the pitch in reference to to carroll and england were expected i guess.

He's an animal, and needs banning for life, not just for this, but for all the other atrocious behaviour he exhibits.
Right, so getting hacked down all over the place for most of this season and last, without reacting in any way is atrocious behaviour?? Okay he is no saint i'll say that, but this is his first sign of any atrocious behaviour since he got out of clinksnowy slopes said:

Footballers do far worse, and infinitely more damaging, things with their feet week in week out. Punishment yes. Eternity burning in hell? No.

However, this just proves that inevitably sooner or later he will revert to type.
IN this case for no reason whatsoever.
It was just insane. THere is no other logical word for it.
I honestly believe he should not be allowed on a football pitch.

Come on thats not the worst display ever, i can think of at least two other incidents that put that one to shame. Roy keane taking a proper swing at alan shearer and dyer and bowyer having a fight in the middle of the pitch. Also, what about keane ending haalands career, that should have been a prison sentence, but it hardly ever gets mentioned. No JB isnt a saint, not by a long shot, but after being clattered all over the place by all and sundry, he has probably just been pushed a bit too far. yes he is an idiot for reacting like that, but like i said there has been far worse acts commited in the past
One-offs should get second chances. Maybe third. Roy Keane should have been banned for life. I suspect he probably would have if the truth had come out that he did it on purpose.
THere comes a stage with Joey Barton than you know for a fact it will happen again, and again and again. It is not fair to other footballers to be exposed to that.

Maybe SS, I don't really know. Muhc bigger question
Bad tackles are different to punches. THe result can be the same- or worse, but they are just inevitable part of tackling. I think there is always doubt as to intention with bad tackles.
Funny you should mention Cattermole though. Im not convinced he should be allowed to play. After his record recently- if someone got seriously injured by him they'd have grounds to feel really bitter.

O/T i didnt realise you got burgled some time ago, i only came across the thread the other day, glad you were all okay. Its funny, but you see this on crimewatch and you kind of get desensitsed to it all, then it happens to someone you know and next thing your shocked, want to hang people etc. Like i said though, glad you were all okayYes, fine cheers.
I was suprised to note that it was 5 years ago when that resurfaced.
Oddly I always look back on that and consider myself lucky.
Noone woke up, they were very professional and took what they came for very quickly, quietly and efficiently.
On topic- agree to disagree indeed. I don't feel that strongly. I just know I would if I was on the pitch and got badly injured by someone like that.
THis whole thing I just ifnd a bit sad becasue I thought he might be the exception to the "leopard and spot" rule.
