I'm typing this prepared for a flaming!
I've just spent 3 weeks on JSA and it's a fecking joke. My last contract ended 3 months ago, and I really didn't want to sign on, but when savings are getting low and you have a mortgage, you start to panic.......plus I had a job for the previous 14 years so I at least contributed!
The job centre is such a depressing place, there are people there who plainly are looking for work, you can tell on their faces that they would rather be somewhere else....then there are the people there who just want to know when they'll be able to buy another tacky Kappa tracksuit.
I was offered a job yesterday, so thankfully won't be going back, and although I did spend 3 weeks claiming, the news above is great as the vast majority of the people I had the pleasure of sharing space with will get a much needed kick up the arse.

First you sell the Porker for a PeoplesWagon, then you confess to taking the bus. Add to that you seem to comprehend, or possibly even be fluent in 'street spaz'."I is not gettin no job innit fook dat."

I spend my life b
hing at my scumbag neighbours that are on benefits and the like and seem to live a better standard of life than I do!
Although I've got to admit, I was pleased that my missus went on JSA, even if it was for a month as it helped alot not having to pay for her but she found it very hard to get on it. She attended a back to work interview, while looking for job herself. They offered her a job for a fish food company packing fish to which she promptly turned down and I didn't blame her. She's an experienced technical clerk for housing/engineering firms trained in SAP, MRP, etc and the best they could do was offer her a fish packing job.
Luckily she got a job in her area of employment and well paid to boot a few days later after that interview.
I don't blame some that turn down what the job centre offers them, I know a jobs a job sometimes but its a proper kick in the teeth. On the other hand, the scrotebags that can't be arsed its fair game.

Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Duncan Smith said the sanctions would be applied to those who would not cooperate when work was available.
He said that 4 million jobs were created under Labour, yet 70% of them were filled were by people from overseas because people from this country were not capable or able to take those jobs. "Surely that's a sin, that's the problem," the former Tory leader said.
So how do you stop people from overseas taking these jobs?He said that 4 million jobs were created under Labour, yet 70% of them were filled were by people from overseas because people from this country were not capable or able to take those jobs. By overseas I assume he's referring to EU citizens so given you can't stop them legally coming here to work how does one force employers to hire a local job seeker over say a Polish or Spaniard?

No flaming required - you paid in for a very long time, on the rare occasion you needed some help it's there for you. That's the way these things should work. Nothing to be ashamed of or grilled over at all.sleep envy said:
