"Bloody idiot" I hear you shout but give me a chance to explain before you hang me!!

My daughter, who is taking her GCSE exams this year, like many kids nowadays, has a school prom before her exams. One part of the prom ritual is to turn-up in an interesting form of transport....I've even seen some of the "rich kids" turn-up in a helicopter...more money than sense perhaps!!

Anyway, my daughter has asked me if she and her partner for the prom could be taken in the Chim. Now, I know it ain't legal so I will pick-up third person at the back of the school and only drive through the school premises three-up to the drop off point. However my question is, will the "parcel shelf" behind the front seats be strong enough to take the weight of a person sitting sideways on? Don't really want to find out the hard way so any help/knowledge would be greatly received.

Many thanks,....John.

Under the shelf is the chassis which is pretty tough, so why not?

For that distance and the speeds you will be travelling at (walking pace I assume) why don't you just have him sit in the passenger seat and have your daughter ride on his knee.

Lots of giggling fun and probably more comfortable.

I have seen two six year olds travel a very short distance on the parcel shelf of a Griff with two adults in the front seats...
