Class 37s and NMT

A couple of pictures I took out of my kitchen window of a couple of 37s and the NMT.

is it the 'NMT' or the 'OldMT', as some of the stock in that rake looks like mk1 derived where the NMT is all late mk2 and mk3 derived as also relies on the NMT class 43 s for the video feeds ...

I thought I recognised it from a discussion on here before and in order to appear a little more knowledgeable than just putting "yellow train" I googled it

As far as I know the NMT is class 43 based and is all yellow including the locomotives (I only think this after googling after seeing it pass through Cardiff-honest), so yes I reckon the class 37 version is the OMT.

It is MK2 stock with a MK1 (looks like a converted luggage/parcels van).

I saw it from the train parked up at East Ham depot on Saturday.

Got on the train to come back from London about 1420 and it rolled in to Fenchurch Street Station. It was only there for about 10 minutes before leaving again, passed it again at Barking. When I got back to Laindon I waited for a while to see if it would come through but it didn't.

Here are a couple of shots of it leaving Fenchurch street, should have really got off my train to take a few pics.

For the number crunchers it was 37610 and 37604.

A similar (might be the same) 'yellow measurement train' was out and about on the southern on Wednesday, saw it heading through Raynes Park out of London, and then saw it again a couple of hours later on one of the overbridges heading through Brixton, also saw it a month or so ago in the platforms at Waterloo. Both times it's had a class 73 on each end, one yellow and one grey.

What does NMT stand for?

Years ago the Railway Centre at Derby had a couple of carriages that used to measure track, speeds etc, that we used to refer to as "the Trib train", is this the current version?
