Yes, very nice.....but do tell us more about that S65 in your garage. More than enough go to scare a number of "supercars".

Enjoy it Mark. You're going to have a fun ride home thumbup Just make sure you get a good bit of instruction on using the TFT screens as the manual isn't very clear on some of the key functions.

I love it. It eats miles like nothing else I've driven - it is my first choice for long trips.

And yes, it is grunty for a big car. smile

You have excellent taste!

Of course, the hero-worshipping would begin in earnest if there was, perhaps, a certain S65 -v- 458 acceleration video.

Just for research purposes you understand *grin*

Well done on all counts and an excellent garage you have.

Can I ask - what's the cost of the 458 with the Ozzie luxury car tax included?

Congrats on a nice car.
My middle daughter is in Melbourne just now trying to find work as a part 1 Architect. Been trying to persuade her to go to car things there! Understand was a big classic expo in late oct?
Have I misunderstood this; Are you only allowed to drive classics on organised runs or on limited useage? Is it 100% import tax on European cars?
Sadly my daughter doesnt seem to know the answer to these critical questions yet!!

I haven't straying into the classic field (yet!), but AFAIK you can pay regular registration costs and use the car anyway you like, or pay a special and much cheaper "Classic/Historic" rate which involves limited days each year with a log book to prove your compliance.

We pay a 30% Luxury Car Tax on anything much more expensive than say a 3-Series then a 10% VAT, but the importers seem to charge what they thing they can get away with. A base 458 is about $A530K - mine is about $A600K to drive-away with various options. OTOH, we have a strong economy with low unemployment, thanks in part to various economic stimulus packages - wonder where government got the money for them?!

If you are interested, here are all new car prices. I wouldn't bother - it makes depressing reading unless you are a determined socialist. wink

Yes, I sold the LP640 when I specced my 458. After 3 Lambos (04 G, 06 GSE, 07 LP640), I decided to try a Ferrari. I'll let you know in a day if that was wise. smile
